Once our conversation concludes, the careful work of preserving your story begins. While we use professional tools to ensure crystal-clear sound, the heart of the narrative remains yours. You will guide the final choices, providing the keepsake reflects your true legacy.
We begin by converting your recorded conversation into a written transcript.
While we use advanced technology for this step, we believe every story needs a human touch. I personally review the text to provide a polished first draft, ensuring it captures the spirit of our chat.
We then share this with you as an editable Word document, so you can review it at your own pace. You may feel happy with minor adjustments to maintain the natural flow, or you might prefer to spend time refining the text for a more formal written record. This choice is entirely up to you and your family.
Just a gentle reminder: making significant changes to the written text means it will differ from the audio recording, where your authentic voice and spontaneous expressions are preserved.
Memory is a deeply personal journey, and we understand that no two family members may recall an event in exactly the same way.
While we always guide our conversations with kindness and respect for all, our primary goal is to honour the storyteller’s authentic voice.
This is a space dedicated to their unique perspective—the history of your family, seen through their eyes
Once you are completely happy with the written draft, we move to the final production of your keepsake.
You will receive a USB containing the original audio recording—preserving the sound of the storyteller's voice—alongside the final written story.
To ensure this legacy can be enjoyed away from a screen, we also present you with a printed version of the edited transcript, ready to be held, read, and shared with generations to come."
